I fished today out of Muskegon. I brought my video camera along so I could record my Big Jon Brutes in action, just incase anyone would like to see how FAST they really are.
I have a pair of 800 cranking amp batteries wired in parallel, and a 55amp alternator running my downriggers. I ran a 4AWG wire from the batteries to a terminal strip at the back of the boat. From the terminal strip to the riggers I have 12 gauge wire.
The first video shows a 12lb cannonball being lowered to 100'.
This video shows a 12lb cannonball being raised from 100'.
I am tickled pink with these downriggers!
