View Full Version : Rigger Boom Length
I have a 27' Sea Ray Amberjack with a 10' beam. I am only putting 3 down riggers on it. I am debating on 3' or 4' booms for the outside riggers.
Whats everyones thoughts?

It is personal preference, but I would use 4' booms. It just helps keeping your spread a little further apart. Whatever you can do to keep tangles to a minimum makes a happier day on the water.

Hi all,
Get a rigger that has an adjustable boom and a swivel base, then you can try the 4 foot boom and if it's too long it can be shortened.
