Fished off shore with some outstanding action!!
49-19 to 52-21 were my best numbers.
After getting a late start at 7:45AM the group
boxed some Nice Kings Steelies and Cohos going
23-31.
On dodgers flashers flies spoons and meat rigs.
Off of riggers dipsy and leadcore.
Dodger/Flashers:Pro Troll Stinger slasher glo/grn,pearl white/crush white tape,dark grn/white crush tape,mtn. dew,froggy,blu/holo.
Flies:Rapture hypnotist,last supper,blu/bubble,hitman no-see-um,oceana,viper,lime crystal.
Spoons:Stinger & Stingray blu & grn bubble(gold blanks HOT for kings & steelies), lemon ice,area 51(early AM)
,sil/glo blu dolphin,mix veggies(gold blanks).
Meat Rigs: cut herring strips, 13"flashers BLK MAMBA(HOT) grn froggy Rapture three fly rigs.
Riggers: DF 8'back 44'-62'down, spoons 20'back 60'down, MR 30'back 5'OTB.
Dipsy:80# power pro,#3setting 3'leader MR & Flasher/flys,
AM 135'- 150'/later 180'-200'on counters.
Leadcore:8-10 colors off of Church walleye boards,
10 colors 100'mono leader/8 colors 125'mono leader,
on 10 colors added 3oz.stinger dive bomb with Flasher/fly.
Mid way thru the trip we ran out of herring strips,put the meat rigs away. Keep out the 13" flasher(grn froggy)and ran a Rapture grn three fly rig with a Hypnotist fly instead of herring strips and still picked some nice kings on them!!
With the nice weather we hopefully are going to have
this week, the run to numbers above is about 12-13 miles off shore. Please be SAFE and enjoy the GREAT action we are having on the south basin.
