The northeast and east winds this past week have stacked a large amount of warmer water on the shallow Racine structure, which has the fish concentrated on the deep structure, third hill and beyond. The best fishing is between 90 and 140 fow. The active fish are suspended 50-70 down, all marks below that had serious lockjaw and could not be moved, with the exception of one nice laker. The temperatures between 50 and 70 feet down were between 55 and 44 degrees.

Flasher fly combos on the riggers and divers continue to do the majority of the work. The Custom Fishing Products new blue holo/cracked prochip, which my AM charter nicknamed the "blue moon" tipped with a Rapture last supper was fantastic. The white pearl glow prochip with a Rapture Oceana was also a good producer in the AM. For the afternoon trip the Custom Fishing Products "Banana Rig" prochip with Rapture Hypnotist and the "Blue No See Um Chrome" prochip combo were the major work horses.

Overall the Racine salmon fishing looks to be setting up quite nicely for the upcoming month of July. More chinooks are showing up daily and the cohos are getting big. We continue to mark alot of bait and every fish cleaned has a packed belly.

There is still time to sign up for the Great Lakes Angler Silver Challenge this Saturday, July 7. A very fun tournament with very few rules, essentially go catch your fish however you please and weigh in your biggest five.
