Left this morning at 5:30 and headed east out of the North Gap working 60 to 160 FOW with only one lake trout and one lost fish to show for our efforts. Ran coho rigs up high and put a spoon and flasher/fly deep. Lake trout came 100’ down in 120 FOW.
Headed back into shore and loaded up on browns and lake trout. Best rigs were the black/silver/orange rattlin’ rogue and std. Michigan stingers in killer orange, black widow, seduction, blue circus freak, and mongoose circus freak. Flat line behind the boards with up to 1 oz. of weight and riggers set as deep as 20’ were best. All the browns were under 6# and the lake trout ranged from 4 – 8#.
Best of luck!
